About Information Architects Inc.

Information Architects Inc. (IAI) focuses on the delivery of high availability, disaster recovery and managed services for many leading organizations.  The company was founded by two veterans in the field of Enterprise Architecture with over 38 years of combined experience, working with many Fortune 500 companies such as Viacom International, Merck & Co., Ernst & Young and many others.  It has become apparent that there was a significant gap between partners that provide little more than a secure, air-conditioned box to collocate servers; and Application Service Providers (ASPs) that understand only a narrow portion of their customers' overall solution requirements.

Information Architects provides a combination of secure, hosted, highly-available platforms with a true understanding of the applications and services demanded by each customer. We have the depth and expertise in both the platform and application suite and will ensure that your solutions keep running as expected.

Process is important...

It may seem like it's overplayed, but process really does drive success. From defining needs and appropriate service levels, to designing, building and managing the solution - you've got to be structured in your approach.  Like a contractor builds a home, every aspect of planning is captured in our "Plane and Simple" strategy (yes, plane).  As you've probably noticed, we stress the common traits of architecture and technology quite often.  We view ourselves as "minimalist" style technology architects; doing more with less and getting the most from our platforms.

From a delivery standpoint, the "Plane" in "Plane & Simple" represents the three core components measured when lying the foundation blocks for a structure, "plumb", "square" and "level". For starters, it's critical that foundations be plumb, square and level, since errors here can raise havoc for the duration of the project. The accuracy of a partner's foundation work is also a pretty good indicator of their standards for the rest of the job. These are fundamental standards of workmanship for any solution; big or small, expensive or not. It's unfortunate, thanks in part to declining client expectations, that such standards are being met less and less often.

We're also of the opinion that many organizations over-complicate their technology strategy.  We like to keep things simple; easier to understand, manage, support and protect.  Most of the time, simplicity comes from standardization, best practices, and lots of foresight.

Do a few things really, really well...

Having grown up in the age of technology consulting, we've personally fallen victim to the "be all to everyone" mentality that plagues many integration companies.  As a result, you tend to become a jack of all trades with little depth in any one area.  All of our core offerings are closely related to one another, layering management and platform protection technologies on top of solid foundations.
